This post is just an opportunity for all of you to share something about yourselves during this pandemic. This past year and a half definitely changed all of us in ways we never expected, so I am curious to see how much you've learned about yourselves, what you think changed the most about your mental health journey, and some life changes that the pandemic brought about that you're grateful for.
I'll go first:
I learned that my time is worthwhile and that my purpose is not to solely serve others' needs.
My mental health journey improved tremendously because I came to terms with it. Therapy has been a true saving grace in my life and I hope that mental health support because more accessible in the future.
A life-changing update is that I am an aunt now! Having a nephew to look after and the responsibility brought about from taking care of a fragile being is one I am grateful for.
There have been negatives and positives...
Positive: I learned to be content being by myself/ enjoy my own company. I feel as though this was a monumental step because before I can even think to add more people in my life, I have to focus on self-improvement.
Negative: My social anxiety has at times gotten worse. On occasion I am forced to leave the house to go to the store and being around that many people has felt suffocating. The good news is, with every challenge I face, I become that much stronger to overcome it.
